The Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology plays a central role in the treatment of pediatric cancer and rare blood disorders in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, striving to provide the best possible care for our patients.


Main Areas of Treatment

Blood Cancer Treatment: Professional chemotherapy for pediatric blood cancers, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, and others.

Bone Marrow Failure and Rare Blood Disorders Management: Diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases such as aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, hemophilia, and more.

Solid Tumor Treatment: Personalized treatment for various pediatric solid tumors.

Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for patients with refractory blood cancers and bone marrow failure.


Specialized Consultation and Treatment Environment


To improve the cure rates and quality of life for our patients, we operate the following multidisciplinary collaboration system:

• Cooperation with various medical departments, including Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Thoracic Surgery, and Pediatric Surgery.

• Operation of state-of-the-art pediatric sterile wards and outpatient chemotherapy infusion rooms for infection prevention and a safe treatment environment.

• A skilled nursing team and specialized medical staff responsible for the care and management of patients.


Support for Patients and Families

Social and Psychological Support: Through coordination with the hospital’s social services department, we offer various activities and programs to help patients maintain their studies and psychological well-being during treatment.

Hospital School: We support patients in minimizing academic gaps during treatment and ensuring smooth social reintegration.
